26th Noida flower show
With over 100 participants and more than 600 varieties of flowers, the show held at Noida Stadium in Sector 21A from 10th to 12th March'12. As many as 40 categories will compete for a favoured position during the show. Special categories for the competition include bonsai, cacti & succulents, bottle gardens, roses, bulbous plants, a large section of foliage, hanging baskets, cut flowers and vegetables. "This year, Coleus and ferns have been added to the basket to spruce up the show. Residents, corporates, hospitals and schools in Noida and Greater Noida participated in the competitions and many of them awarded by "Floriculture Society"
"This year's theme flower is Verbena. The best varieties of verbena was extensively showcased during the show. "The theme flower contains about 250 species of annual and perennial herbaceous or semi-woody flowering plants. Verbenas come in a range of colors from light blushes and pinks to dark reds, blues and purples.
Unique flower displays, cut flower displays and foliage arrangements will add glamour to the display. Commercial stalls related to floriculture and horticulture will be set up by different states. "The show will also boast of stalls selling organic manure, seeds, fruit plants, pottery, ceramics, aromas for therapy and bonsais.
And also there were Rajasthani Sweets & Halwa. Halwa was very tasty……

The Cultural Program show was awesome that there were Seema from FM Radio, Deepak Kumar & Kiran the Singter, Sunil Pal & Pradeep Pallavi the Comedian. At last day the "Floriculture Society of Noida" distributed free plant & flower to each family in Flower show.
